Motivation Picture To Lose Weight | I Made It – Now What? | Day 90 of P90X 90 Day Challenge

As I sit here and reflect over the past 90 days I am surprised by how NORMAL I feel.

motivation picture to lose weightFor some reason at the end of 90 days I thought there would be champagne corks popping, streamers flying across the room and cheers of “Hip Hip Hooray!” … Coming from ME!

But I woke up, and simply said, “Wow! I DID IT … Now what?

And this is what I want to cover with you on the last day of my 90 day challenge.

You see, this is NOT the last day of my challenge. This is the FIRST DAY of the REST OF MY LIFE living as a normal person, without weight issues, or food issues, or issues about exercising.

This is the day where I embark on a new journey of being NORMAL around these subjects.

Wouldn’t You LOVE That For Yourself?

To be FREE of the inner battle that goes on between you, yourself and you?

Wouldn’t you LOVE to have a normal relationship with food, look great in the mirror and be that fun energetic woman you see running on the beach?

I know that’s what I wanted. I desperately wanted to be normal and NEVER DIET AGAIN!

You know what’s really interesting? (And this is how I know I’ve turned a corner). Today is Easter Sunday and we’re off to the farm to spend time with my Mum and Dad.

Easter Sunday

Today is the day we eat mouth-watering, aromatic Hot Cross Buns dripping with melted butter and soft fluffly marshmallow eggs.

I see them sitting over on the side board. And you know what’s truly amazing??? I don’t even feel like eating any.

There’s no pull. There’s no desire. There’s no CRAVING!

Tonight I can drink red wine and celebrate my success. Do I feel like drinking? No. We have the wine and bubbles all ready to go … no, we didn’t drink any Moët this morning motivation picture to lose weight … but again, there’s NO CRAVING for it.

I am stunned at how FREE I feel right now.

I have been plagued with eating disorders and food addictions my entire life.

If you’re new to my blog you just need to check out my first post to get an idea of my struggle.

So for me to get to this place right now, is an accomplishment of EPIC proportions.

I Know What’s Possible For You Now

I just want you to know, that it’s possible to get to the other side. All it takes is 90 days to change the behaviors of a lifetime. I know because I am now LIVING PROOF it can be done.

I WANT to help YOU. I want to share with you all I’ve learned.

All of my posts share with you my journey … they tell you the “WHAT” … but they don’t convey the “HOW.”

You know I’ve been working on something this past week. It’s nearly ready to go live.

I want you to TRUST ME on this.

I want nothing more than to get you to where I am right now.

If you will trust me to take you on your own 90 day journey, and you commit to doing EXACTLY what I tell you … I will get you here … but you have to Trust My Methods.

I promise you, if you trust me this will be the LAST program you EVER try. I know it.

Motivation To Lose Weight | The End Is Near | Day 89 of P90X 90 Day Challenge

I hope you didn’t think I’d fallen off the face of the earth! These past few days have been so busy.

Very soon, all will be revealed … I’ve been busy cooking up something that is going to change the way you lose weight forever!

I have always wanted my life to mean something.

I have always wanted to believe that one day I would do something that would make an impact somehow.

I believe that my own painful struggle with weight has been God’s way of showing me how I could make a difference.

For so long I have questioned what my purpose in life was. And I now believe this is it.

I believe I was meant to get to a breaking point where I said, “Enough is Enough!” and make a stand.

Because what’s happening in the diet industry is ridiculous, cruel and manipulative.

Desperate people being lured like lemmings to the newest craze or fad. Desperately hoping that this is the one.

Yearning with every fiber of their being that their struggle to lose weight will finally be over.

It took me 33 years to work out that everything I needed was within me all along.

I have a dream …

I have a dream that there will come a time, when millions of women and men around the world will release themselves from the shackles of the multi-billion dollar diet industry, and empower themselves to get in the best shape of their lives, under their own steam and their own motivation.

I have a dream, that my words might inspire you to join me on this crusade to prove once and for all, that diets don’t work and that we don’t need the diet industry to lose weight and get in the best shape of our lives.

I have a dream that we will all find the belief and the motivation we need to propel us to live fuller, healthier lives and that we might teach this to our children so they don’t need to live with the pain and suffering we have endured.

This is my dream.

What’s YOUR dream?

Motivation To Lose Weight | Flat Belly Diet | Day 85

I have been searching FOR YEARS to find the ultimate Flat Belly Diet.

But nothing worked!

Eventually I just stopped searching, stopped dieting, stopped being down on myself … and just got on with eating right and exercising. And then something miraculous happened … I got a flat belly.

Want to know how I did it? Read on …

Here’s my Flat Belly Diet.

1) Don’t eat 3 hours before bedtime.

Your body needs time to digest it’s food. If you eat too late at night you’re putting too much stress on your digestive system and not giving it a chance to work right.

2) Speed up your metabolism.

By adding spices such as cinnamon, chili and cayenne pepper to your foods, you are naturally stoking your furnace.

3) Eat low-fat natural yogurt.

Adding low-fat natural yogurt to your diet has been proven in clinical studies to get rid of belly fat.

According to WebMD Health News, “adding yogurt to your diet may rev up your body’s fat-burning engines, speed weight loss, and trim your tummy … Researchers found that obese adults who ate three servings of fat-free yogurt a day as part of a reduced-calorie diet lost 22% more weight and 61% more body fat than those who simply cut calories and didn’t bone up on calcium. Yogurt eaters also lost 81% more fat in the stomach area than non-yogurt eaters.”

4) Eat your greens.

Cruciferous vegetables such as Broccoli, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, Kale, Bok Choy, Cabbage, Collard Greens, Rutabaga, Arugula (Rocket), Watercress, Radishes & Wasabi contain unique phytonutrients that help you in your fight to get rid of belly fat.

5) Reduce stress.

This is a tough one, but medical research shows that increased stress levels play havoc with your hormones. And if your hormones are out of whack, you tend to have unhealthy cravings.

This is all I have done to get these results.

Motivation To Lose Weight | Diets That Work | Day 84

Diets that work … hmmm … can you name one that worked for you?

I can’t either and I’m an expert on the subject.

I’ve tried Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Gloria Marshall, Herbalife, Slimfast, The Atkins Diet, The South Beach Diet, The Grapefruit Diet, The Brown Bread Diet, The Yogurt Diet, The Garbage Bag Diet, The Cabbage Soup Diet, The Cookie Diet, The Water Diet, The Green Tea Diet … and so many more.

This photo (that’s me on the left) was taken in my 20’s. You can see diets that work in action in that photo!diets that work

In my 40’s I finally came to the realization that “Diets That Work” is an oxymoron. Diets don’t work. If they did, why after 33 years was I still overweight?

If diets really do work why does the average woman trying to lose weight, attempt at least 4 different diets a year?

If I may ask, how many diets have you tried?

Do you really still believe that there are diets that work out there?

My quest to finally lose weight once and for all, lead me down a path of self discovery and realization.

I’m nearing the end of my 90 day personal challenge and I know, without a doubt WHY diets don’t work, and most importantly WHAT DOES!

I’ve been trying to lose the same 50lbs for 33 years. I never, ever believed that I would ever look in a mirror and see this reflection smiling back at me.

For years I would watch remarkable transformations in infomercials and wish that that could be me. Their results were so persuasive that I would rush to order whatever they were selling.

With credit card in hand, I would be in full anticipation of getting the same results.

I recall the angst-ridden wait as days or weeks passed before my new weight loss promise arrived. I just KNEW that if it was possible for them, it was possible for me too.

And when the new weight loss promise arrived I would be bursting with excitement and HOPE, that FINALLY I would be on my way to gorgeousness. I believed with all my heart and soul that “this was the one.”

I would embrace the eating plan or the exercise plan (if they had one) with 100% commitment.

I would weigh my food, count my calories, calculate my BMR, count my heart rate, measure my body parts … you name it … I knew everything down to a scientific certainty.

The first 3-4 weeks I would be full of vim and vigor. This time I was going to do it! This time I would be slim!

Can you relate to any of this story so far?

And then about week 5 or so, for some reason I wouldn’t be getting the results I expected. The scales weren’t delivering me the readings I had anticipated. I was hungry, grumpy and downright miserable.

It wasn’t working for me.

If you can relate to my story I want to ask you a question. What happens around week 5 or so?

It’s a turning point isn’t it?

All the effort, the calorie counting, the weighing, the measuring, the gruelling exercise … it’s not paying off is it?

So what happens?

We quit!

And why do we quit?

Because we’ve unconsciously realized once again that diets don’t work.

We know it … but we keep hoping we’ll find one that actually does work. We’re like those hopefuls buying Powerball tickets, praying that our numbers will come up.

And how often does that happen? What are the statistics for winning Powerball? Currently,  1:195,246,054.

Those aren’t great odds.

What if I told you that I have unlocked the real secrets to losing weight?

diets that workWhat if I told you there are only 4 key ingredients to losing weight that the diet industry doesn’t want you to know about.

Because if you did know, you wouldn’t need them any more.

I have 6 days left in my 90 day challenge.

I know what works now.

I’ll be revealing all in 6 days time …. stay with me here.

P.S. I started this blog because I wanted to make a difference.

I know the pain I’ve suffered in my 33 year quest to lose weight. I can only assume that there are others like me out there. If you’re one of these people that have suffered the defeat and dismay of failing at every diet you’ve tried, I am reaching out to you now and asking you to trust me.

For a long time I’ve been asking what my purpose was here on this planet. I wondered why I had struggled so much all my life. In my 40’s I still hadn’t worked out what I wanted to do when I grew up.

I’ve done lots of things, but I never found the one thing that felt like a ‘calling’.

You know how some kids grow up knowing they want to fight fires, or stop the bad guys or save lives? I never knew what I wanted to do. Not until now.

I’ve been to hell and back. I know what it’s like to desperately want to lose weight so bad that you’ll throw every last dollar at the promise of diets that work.

I know the absolute feeling of despair, when yet again, another diet fails you.

And that’s why I got so mad this year. Because yet another diet company was trying to lure me into their money sucking lair. I got so mad that I finally took a stand and said, “No more!”

I was determined to find another way.

It’s amazing what you can do when you really put your mind to it.

I now know what I want to do in life.

I want to show you how you can lose weight, get in the best shape of your life, and stay that way forever.

Trust me … I want you to win more than you will ever know.

If you want that too, stick with me.

Motivation To Lose Weight | Motivation Picture To Lose Weight | Day 83 of P90X 90 Day Challenge

Motivation to lose weight can be the hardest thing to find. Sometimes, it’s hard to find because deep down we have a belief that we can’t do it any way, so what’s the point?

motivation picture to lose weightI want you to meet Andrew. At the age of 31 Andrew was dangerously pushing 400lbs.

“How did he get there?” you may ask.

A daily diet of junk food; burgers, pies, crisps and chocolate all washed down with litres of Coke lead to his downfall. In his words, “I led a life of convenience.”

All that changed however after a visit to the doctor. He’d started to become constantly thirsty and was always needing to go to the bathroom … life was becoming more and more uncomfortable.

Then the doctor delivered the shocking news.

Andrew had Type-2 Diabetes. This is no walk in the park! Believe me.

The first thing Andrew did was cut out sugar! Nothing else – and he dropped 10kg.

But, he kept eating junk food and exercise was as foreign to him as eating mung beans and alfalfa sprouts.

After a year of this he was still overweight. He got mad and he said to himself, ‘I’ve had enough!”

He went through his diet with a fine tooth comb and got rid of all the junk. He started walking a bit, and then hit the gym 4 nights a week. To his amazement, ‘the weight just peeled off.’

And look at him now …

motivation to lose weightAndrew lost a whopping 200lbs … by NOT dieting!

People he’d known his whole life didn’t recognize him. Can you see why?

He says that as wonderful as it is to be fit and trim, the real joy for him is how energetic he now feels. He’s active and moving and getting things done.

And do you want to know the best part about his weight loss? He has his diabetes in control. His blood sugar is pumping at healthy levels and his doctor is super impressed with his journey.

His advice

… “it’s not as hard as you think. If people knew how easy it is to lose weight they’d start straight away … you can eat normal foods and live a normal life … it’s not a sacrifice … I had tried shake diets before … they don’t work because they don’t teach you about nutrition and eating properly. Knowledge gives you the tools to lose the weight and keep it off.”

Finding YOUR motivation to lose weight is about digging deep.

Andrew decided he just couldn’t live his life like this anymore … and look at him now.

Finding your motivation to lose weight is easier than you think.

Give me 90 days and I’ll get you to where you want to be.

Just click “like” … that’s your first step to committing to living your life on your terms, under your own steam … for you!

Again, just click “like.”

I have one week to go on my own personal P90X 90 day challenge …

And I have a dream …

I have a dream that there will come a time, when millions of women and men around the world will release themselves from the shackles of the multi-billion dollar diet industry, and empower themselves to get in the best shape of their lives, under their own steam and their own motivation.

Imagine yourself finally free of being addicted to headlines that promise so much and yet deliver so little.

Imagine yourself walking tall, strong and proud because you know you’ve finally found the secret to losing weight, and it was inside you all along. You just needed the key to unlock it.

Imagine yourself free to enjoy the life you’ve always dreamed of, on your terms, forever more.

Just imagine that.

I wonder how different your world would look if you just had the secret of how to do this … all on your own.

Stay glued to my post … I have 7 days to go … everything I’ve learned I am going to share with you … here.

Need Motivation To Lose Weight | A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words | Day 78 of P90X 90 Day Challenge

Need motivation to lose weight? Check this out.

need motivation to lose weightWhen I first started this program I wanted to quit within the first 2 days.

In fact, Day 2 was a make or break day.

Plyometrics was the ‘torture du jour’ and this is how I looked. Flabby arms, and ‘loose in the cage.’ Too embarrassed to even show that my face was attached to this torso.

I was in so much pain during and after that workout that I wrote a post entitled, “I Just Want To Puke!” Really classy huh?

But that’s how I felt … so I just had to keep it real.

The next day I was in agony and I smile now as I read, “Oh The Pain.” I remember I couldn’t sit down or take the stairs without yelping in pain.

And then the next day was Yoga.

Boy! I was certainly not a fan of that in the beginning. I still smile when I recall trying to do my first Twisted Triangle Pose. It wasn’t pretty. In fact it was darned near impossible.

And Day 6 brought back painful memories of having to do sports as a kid. Shame and humiliation were constant companions back in those days.

In that post I wrote, “My motivation to lose weight is about never having to go through the indignity of feeling embarrassed about my body again. This time the weight is coming off and it’s coming off for good!”

They say a picture is worth a thousand words …

need motivation to lose weight

And I did this without dieting.

I did it without taking shakes, magic pills, potions, lotions and pixie dust. I did it without following some crazy program someone dreamed up when they were standing on their head in a Monastery in Tibet!

I did it simply by healthy eating and doing an excercise (for the most part) I enjoy ツ

What prompted me to take this photo today was to acknowledge how far I’ve come. You see, sometimes what we see in the mirror is not really seen by our eyes. If we’re looking good, sometimes we still see ourselves as we remember ourselves.

Today as I was writing out my affirmations I caught a glimpse of my upper arm as I was writing. And I was astounded by what I saw. Don’t laugh when I tell you this, but it wasn’t jiggling.

A few months before I had been horrified when in a meeting taking notes at a board room table full of men, I caught sight of my upper arm. With every stroke of my pen the blubber on my upper arm was wobbling like jello! I was mortified! How on earth had I let myself get so out of shape?

And today, well there was no jiggle. And that prompted me to take another look at myself. And I saw something different to what I saw 2 days ago.

Weird isn’t it?

And this is just another reason why I beg you to get rid of the scales and the tape measures! They’re not a true indicator of what’s real! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve completely gone off the rails because of a bad reading on the bathroom scales or the tape measure.

What’s important is how we look and how we feel.

At the end of the 90 days I’ll show you how to really measure yourself. And it’s definitely not in the conventional way that’s for sure.

So my friends, I am coming to the end of my 90 day challenge and I have so much to share with you.

Do you remember in the beginning I said, ‘If I can do this, anyone can do this?’

It’s YOUR TURN next. Do you still need motivation to lose weight?

Just click ‘like’that’s your first step in the right direction.

If you want to get in the best shape of your lifejust click ‘like’

That’s all … just click ‘like’

See you tomorrow ツ

Need Motivation To Lose Weight | Magic Pills, Potions, Lotions and Pixie Dust | The Last Diet You’ll Ever Need … I promise

Need Motivation To Lose Weight?

Are you sick and tired of reaching for magazines that have headlines revealing a revolutionary new way to lose weight only to find out that they’re promoting another range of magic pills, potions, lotions and pixie dust that have secret ingredients sourced from ancient mystics deep in the Amazon jungle,  GUARANTEED TO DROP 15 POUNDS IN 7 DAYS!

My darlings! It’s all rubbish!

How do I know? Because I’ve bought every single one of them … desperately hoping that this one would be the last “revolutionary solution” I would ever need to finally rid myself of all of my excess baggage.

need motivation to lose weightBecause This Is How I Looked Just 11 Weeks Ago!

Chunky arms that flap in the wind.

A muffin top that gives a Starbucks Double Choc Muffin a run for it’s money.

And I don’t even have the guts to show you my chunky thighs and butt that embody the strength and circumference of an oak tree!

11 weeks ago I got really mad … because yet another weight loss company was being shoved in my face as the revolutionary new way to finally lose weight and keep it off forever. And I had suffered drastic consequences at the hands of a similar weight loss company in the past.

I got so mad … that I said, “NEVER AGAIN!”

And I set out on a journey to prove that I could lose weight WITHOUT DIETING, WITHOUT TAKING MAGIC PILLS, POTIONS, LOTIONS AND PIXIE DUST.

And I promised, that when I did that … I would share it with the world.

Here I Am Today.

I did this in just 11 weeks.need motivation to lose weight

Do you now believe that I can help you get in the best shape of your life?

If you need motivation to lose weight, just look at these before and after pictures.

And I still have 2 weeks to go …

I Have A Dream …

I have a dream that there will come a time, when millions of women around the world will release themselves from the shackles of the multi-billion dollar diet industry, and empower themselves to get in the best shape of their lives, under their own steam and their own motivation.

I wonder how different your world would look if you just had the secret of how to do thisall on your own.

Let Me Tell You A Quick Story

my story … I started dieting at the age of 10 by swallowing a bottle of Apple Shampoo. Someone told me I could lose weight fast. All I did was lose my dinner, breakfast and lunch – nothing more!

I dieted all through my teens; the brown bread diet, the yogurt diet, the cabbage soup diet. You name it, I tried it.

By the time I was in my 20’s I’d moved on to paid diet programs. I tried Herbablife, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and Gloria Marshall and a whole heap more.

My angst at never being able to lose weight lead me into a decade long dangerous dance with bulimia. I truly believed I had found a magical way to lose weight. My 20’s were the most miserable years of my life. Pretending to be happy when I was dying inside, weighing in at over 200lbs. Can you relate?

In my 30’s I started to educate myself on health, nutrition and exercise … but this decade was filled with parties … so knowledge without action is nothing but a whole lot of useless information really. If you’re not using it … really it’s just useless to you.

So here I am in my 40’s … on a mission to kick this insidious diet industry right where it hurts and get YOU motivated to lose weight and get YOU in the best shape of your life by teaching you the tricks of the trade that the diet industry doesn’t want you to know about.

So if you seriously want to lose weight and keep it off forever … just leave me a comment underneath saying …YES I AM READY TO LOSE WEIGHT AND KEEP IT OFF FOREVER … go ahead … just write this in the comments below and LET’S START A MOVEMENT!

I’m getting ready to reveal my secrets and take you all on a beautiful journey … a journey back to who you always wanted to be … who you’ve always been … I’m ready to take you back to YOU!

You ready? Just type, “I’M READY!” GO ON  … it’ll make You Feel Good : = )

It’s the first step for you to lose weight and keep it off forever … Just type, “I’M READY!” And type it like YOU MEAN IT.

Motivation To Lose Weight | Why Bother With Affirmations? | Day 76 of P90X 90 Day Challenge

Your motivation to lose weight is nothing without the power of affirmations.

I know, they seem like such a drag to do don’t they? You wonder if there really is any point to it and you feel silly writing down stuff that you want, in the present tense, as if it’s real.

But let me tell you something, if you seriously want to get in the best shape of your life, doing your affirmations daily is as equally important as the exercises you do and the foods you choose to eat.

You may recall that I set myself a ridiculous affirmation of looking like Lara Croft. I put her on my fridge, and every day I repeated this affirmation in my journal: “I look like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider.”

Yes, I’ll admit in the beginning I felt silly. And about 2 weeks ago I felt quite defeated thinking there is no way I will ever get close to looking like Lara Croft.

And then today my husband told me he wanted to take a photo of me because he could see something I couldn’t …

… my eyes see a “fat me” … the camera sees something else …

motivation to lose weightMy motivation to lose weight was to look like my idol – how am I doing so far?

And here’s something else that I’ve learned and another reason why even P90X has it’s flaws.

Because I set myself a deadline of 90 days to get to my goal, when it looked like I might not get there, I felt defeated and every day was starting to become a bit of a slog.

My motivation to lose weight was waning because a part of me didn’t believe it was going to happen.

Which is why I’m still so adamant that you don’t need a structured diet and exercise regimen to get in the best shape of your life.

Because we’re talking about a health and wellness plan FOR LIFE … not for a wedding, or a reunion, or a beach holiday in Tahiti … we’re talking FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

If there is no end day in sight, you can’t set yourself up for failure can you?

However, if you are consistently eating healthy, nutritious and delicious foods and regularly doing an exercise you love, you’re going to get in the best shape of your life – I GUARANTEE IT!

This was me on Day 10

motivation to lose weightThere’s no way I could have shown you my bare belly back in the beginning. Way too far out of my comfort zone …

I look back now and I remember how I felt back then … the daunting journey ahead.

If it wasn’t for my affirmations I KNOW without a doubt, I wouldn’t be where I am right now.

You MUST write down what it is that you want.

You have to bring your wants and desires to life. They will energize you when you’re feeling down, and kick your butt out the door when you just don’t quite feel like it …

Your motivation to lose weight will be reinforced daily by your affirmations.

But make sure you write them correctly … you’ve got to be focusing on the right things. They must be written in a positive way, as if they are real right now.

For Example:

Correct Way: I eat healthy, nutritious and delicious foods daily.

Incorrect Way: I don’t eat chocolate (I don’t know about you, but I read that and all I want to do is eat chocolate)

As your attention goes – so you go!

And on that note I have to run and do some Kickboxing. Still got personal cr@p going on in my life that needs to get beaten to a pulp.

Please note: I am not advocating personal dramas as a way to motivate yourself to go exercise. I am merely sugggesting that if you are struggling with a personal dilemma, let it serve to motivate you, not demotivate you. Your motivation to lose weight needs to be stronger than the dramas in your life.

Catch you tomorrow!

Motivation To Lose Weight | 5 Ways To Avoid Emotional Eating | Days 73-75 of P90X 90 Day Challenge

Emotional eating ruined my life for the good part of 30 years. You could say I’m an expert at the triggers.

emotional eatingIf I got picked on at school I recall going home and fixing myself a big bowl of WeetBix, drowning it in full cream milk and then frosting it with a thick layer of white sugar … for me that was heaven.

But I didn’t stop there. I was just revving up. That would then be followed by 4 slices of white bread, slathered with a thick layer of butter, topped off with delicious creamy honey.

I’ll never forget the sensation of the crunchy sugar on my WeetBix and the creamy honey on my bread just seemingly melt all my pain away. It was the ultimate elixer.

The only problem with this “sugar fix” however, is that it just magnified my weight problems exponentially.

It took me 30 years to stop emotional eating … please don’t let it take you that long.

I’ve worked out 5 ways to avoid emotional eating … please take them to heart. They work!

 1) Get Busy!

Let’s get really honest here for a minute … emotional eating normally happens when you have too much time on your hands, right? Maybe you’re sitting on the couch at night with 5 hours ahead of you … you’re feeling a bit lonely, or sad, or frustrated or … just plain bored!

So what happens?

If emotional eating is part of your destructive pattern, your mind is going to wander to the pantry or the fridge isn’t it?

So get busy!

“With what?” you say?

With anything … a class, an activity, a group … anything …

For me, I am so busy right now with my business and this project I’ve got brewing that I don’t even have time to think about emotional eating. I don’t even know when I could fit that in. My schedule is that packed.

You may have noticed that I didn’t even have time to blog for the past few days … I’ve been that busy with this project that I’ll be announcing at the end of 90 days.

Get ready for it … I’m going to change the way you lose weight forever!

If you’ve been following me for the past 75 days, you know it’s been a bit of a journey … but I’ve learned valuable lessons and I’ll be passing them all onto you!

2) Get rid of all the junk!

Again, let’s get really serious here for a minute. I told you in the beginning, if you really want to lose weight, you’ve got to get rid of the junk.

And if you’re an emotional eater, you really MUST get rid of the junk.

Because when those emotions hit you, you need to know that there is nothing in the house for you to satisfy that pang. It forces you to find another way to deal with it. Got it???

And unless you’re bulimic like I was, there is little chance you’re going to jump in your car at midnight just to get your binge on.

And if you are bulimic, then reach out to me via my personal email … we need to talk!

3) Really listen to your body

This is why I recommend you take up Yoga.

Yoga gets you back in tune with your body and rebuilds that mind/body connection. When you love yourself, and your body, there’s no way that you would intentionally harm yourself. Which is what you’re doing when you succumb to emotional eating.

And if you don’t really understand what emotional eating is … it’s eating outside of your normal eating routine … when you’re not really hungry.

If you’re eating 3 balanced meals a day, and 2 snacks, your body doesn’t need any more food. It’s your emotions that crave food outside of these times.

4) Identify areas of stress

Many times emotional eating is triggered by stress.

Personally, right now I’m very stressed. I have conflicts going on in my personal life which are driving me to distraction … but they are not driving me to the pantry.

Identify the stresses in your life, acknowledge them, but do not give in to them. Find a way to manage them.

Kickboxing is an awesome way to beat stress! Get to a punching bag and just whack the sh!t out of it.

Picture the person or ‘thing’ that is getting you stressed right on the front of that punching bag and just go for it! That’s what I do sometimes! And it feels GREAT!!!

5) Don’t be an island

Don’t shut yourself off from the rest of the world. There are people around you who love you. Reach out to them when you’re down and let them in.

That was my biggest mistake when I was really suffering my eating disorders. I pretended that I was “so happy.”  To admit that I was miserable would have been to have admitted a weakness on my part. And for me, that just wasn’t OK.

So I pretended to be so happy and vivacious for decades, when on the inside I was dying of pain and shame.

So reach out. There are people out there who care!

Stay tuned my friends … something really exciting is on the way … if you’ve been yo-yo dieting for years, if you’ve tried every diet and failed … if you’ve bought every fitness gadget out there only to fail again … I PROMISE YOU … I’ve found a way for you to lose weight and keep it off forever … and there will be no pills, no potions and no magic involved!

Take care … and again … sorry for not getting a post out each day … things are ramping up and I’m busting my butt to get this to you …

Because I don’t want you suckered by the diet industry any longer. I want to empower you to take back control of your battle against the bulge, own it and work it. You can do this by never dieting again … I promise you … it’s easier than you think.

The diet industry just wants you to believe it’s tough and complicated because they want you powerless. They want you to depend on them to come out with the next revolutionary diet product that “really will work this time.”

I know diets don’t work.

I am living proof diets don’t work.

Stick with me … only 15 days to go …

Motivation To Lose Weight | 5 Foods To Avoid Like The Plague | Day 72 of P90X 90 Day Challenge

You know how I feel about what types of foods you should be eating … all natural, or as natural as possible.

Last night I was watching a documentary about the evils of sugar.

I know I’ve been saying NO SUGAR for a long time, but by the end of the documentary I felt sick to my stomach on the subject. So much so that even the idea of eating sugar was about as revolting as eating Mountain Oysters. If you’re not too sure what they are, you might want to Google it. Too revolting for words.

Anyhoo … just thought I’d whip together a quick list of 5 foods to avoid if you want to get in the best shape of your life and why.

Fried Food

There’s nothing good happening here.

Fried foods are soaked in trans fats which are a killer for your waist line and your health. Trans fats are unnatural and increase the risk of coronary heart disease.

Just don’t go there! Try baking your foods instead. Always look for a healthier option.

Soda and Sugar

Sugar is a 21st Century POISON.

Food manufacturers know if they put it in your food you’ll love it and therefore buy more of it.

Look at your labels. Many labels that say “Fat-Free” are soaked in sugar to make it taste good. Clever food manufacturers simply took the fat out and replaced it with sugar!!!

That’s why when the “low fat” diet craze took off, people got fatter and fatter. Because they had to pump all their tasteless fat free foods with sugar.

And let’s talk about soda.5 foods to avoid

One 12oz can of soda, contains 39grams of sugar!!! Get out the kitchen scales and pour 39grams of sugar. That’s an obscene amount of sugar.

Sugar is responsible for obesity, diabetes and a whole host of other related diseases.

If the only thing you did was to cut sugar out of your diet entirely, I promise you that you would lose weight … without ever doing anything else. Just cut out the sugar!

Artificial Sweeteners

They’re artificial. That’s a clue in and of itself that there’s something wrong here.

There are even some reports that suggest artificial sweeteners can actually make you GAIN WEIGHT instead of lose weight. That’s no fun.

Instead, use Stevia, Agave Nectar or Honey. The really neat thing about using any of these three sweeteners is that you’ll never have sugar cravings again.

White Bread

Anything that white has to be bad for you … it’s so highly processed that there’s no nutritional value left in it. And most white breads are high in sugar to make them taste good.

The only breads I recommend are Whole Grain breads because they’re full of fiber and goodness.

Artificial anything is not good. Margarine became popular as an alternative to butter but in fact, being that so many margarines are high in trans fats you have the same health risks as eating fried foods.

Try and find an olive oil spread and for cooking use olive oil or coconut oil.

If you must use butter, use it sparingly.

And there you have it, my list of 5 foods to avoid like the plague.

I’ve got to run … I’m cooking up something really exciting which I’ll be revealing at the end of my 90 day challenge. I can’t believe I only have 18 days to go. I’ve learned so much … and I’ve got some pretty inspirational stuff to share with you all.

Keep your eyes peeled to my posts.

What I announce at the end of my 90 days will knock your socks off … get ready to lose weight like you’ve never lost before … with a twist!

Catch you tomorrow!
