Diets that work … hmmm … can you name one that worked for you?

I can’t either and I’m an expert on the subject.

I’ve tried Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Gloria Marshall, Herbalife, Slimfast, The Atkins Diet, The South Beach Diet, The Grapefruit Diet, The Brown Bread Diet, The Yogurt Diet, The Garbage Bag Diet, The Cabbage Soup Diet, The Cookie Diet, The Water Diet, The Green Tea Diet … and so many more.

In my 40’s I finally came to the realization that “Diets That Work” is an oxymoron. Diets don’t work. If they did, why after 33 years was I still overweight?

If diets really do work why does the average woman trying to lose weight, attempt at least 4 different diets a year?

If I may ask, how many diets have you tried?

Do you really still believe that there are diets that work out there?

My quest to finally lose weight once and for all, lead me down a path of self discovery and realization.

I’m nearing the end of my 90 day personal challenge and I know, without a doubt WHY diets don’t work, and most importantly WHAT DOES!

I’ve been trying to lose the same 50lbs for 33 years. I never, ever believed that I would ever look in a mirror and see this reflection smiling back at me.

For years I would watch remarkable transformations in infomercials and wish that that could be me. Their results were so persuasive that I would rush to order whatever they were selling.

With credit card in hand, I would be in full anticipation of getting the same results.

I recall the angst-ridden wait as days or weeks passed before my new weight loss promise arrived. I just KNEW that if it was possible for them, it was possible for me too.

And when the new weight loss promise arrived I would be bursting with excitement and HOPE, that FINALLY I would be on my way to gorgeousness. I believed with all my heart and soul that “this was the one.”

I would embrace the eating plan or the exercise plan (if they had one) with 100% commitment.

I would weigh my food, count my calories, calculate my BMR, count my heart rate, measure my body parts … you name it … I knew everything down to a scientific certainty.

The first 3-4 weeks I would be full of vim and vigor. This time I was going to do it! This time I would be slim!

Can you relate to any of this story so far?

And then about week 5 or so, for some reason I wouldn’t be getting the results I expected. The scales weren’t delivering me the readings I had anticipated. I was hungry, grumpy and downright miserable.

It wasn’t working for me.

If you can relate to my story I want to ask you a question. What happens around week 5 or so?

It’s a turning point isn’t it?

All the effort, the calorie counting, the weighing, the measuring, the gruelling exercise … it’s not paying off is it?

So what happens?

We quit!

And why do we quit?

Because we’ve unconsciously realized once again that diets don’t work.

We know it … but we keep hoping we’ll find one that actually does work. We’re like those hopefuls buying Powerball tickets, praying that our numbers will come up.

And how often does that happen? What are the statistics for winning Powerball? Currently,  1:195,246,054.

Those aren’t great odds.

What if I told you that I have unlocked the real secrets to losing weight?

P.S. I started this blog because I wanted to make a difference.

I know the pain I’ve suffered in my 33 year quest to lose weight. I can only assume that there are others like me out there. If you’re one of these people that have suffered the defeat and dismay of failing at every diet you’ve tried, I am reaching out to you now and asking you to trust me.

For a long time I’ve been asking what my purpose was here on this planet. I wondered why I had struggled so much all my life. In my 40’s I still hadn’t worked out what I wanted to do when I grew up.

I’ve done lots of things, but I never found the one thing that felt like a ‘calling’.

You know how some kids grow up knowing they want to fight fires, or stop the bad guys or save lives? I never knew what I wanted to do. Not until now.

I’ve been to hell and back. I know what it’s like to desperately want to lose weight so bad that you’ll throw every last dollar at the promise of diets that work.

I know the absolute feeling of despair, when yet again, another diet fails you.

And that’s why I got so mad this year. Because yet another diet company was trying to lure me into their money sucking lair. I got so mad that I finally took a stand and said, “No more!”

I was determined to find another way.

It’s amazing what you can do when you really put your mind to it.

I now know what I want to do in life.

I want to show you how you can lose weight, get in the best shape of your life, and stay that way forever.

Trust me … I want you to win more than you will ever know.

  1. I am like you. I have failed at every diet I’ve ever tried. It’s very discouraging and I am still currently on weight watchers with no luck. I am with you here and hope to learn a thing or two!

    Hang in there my friend. I’m working on something that I really believe will make a difference.
    I did Weight Watchers too … didn’t work for me because I felt like I was concentrating too much on the food. All I did was focus on food.
    I think we need to be able to step away from food and focus on something else, like LIVING whilst we’re losing weight.
    It’s possible … I just know it … again, hang in there … stayed tuned!

  3. Thank you for wanting to make a difference. It is so refreshing to know that there are genuine people out there who want to help… instead of just people who are out to make money on people who are desperate enough to lose weight that they’ll try anything.

      I’ve been there so I know how vulnerable we are … anything I ever do with be out of total sincerity. I WANT to make a difference. I want my life to mean something.

  4. I am a girl, 16 years old and I weigh 152. I want to get down to 120 by prom which is 6 months away. That’s 32 pounds. I need to know what diets work the best and show results fast. So I hope these will help and I’m going to try them! 🙂

      First of all, I just want to say that you’ve set yourself a good time frame to lose weight. 6 months is ideal to effectively lose 32lbs and keep it off.
      All we need to do is work out what you’re eating now, work out what is best for you and then find an exercise you enjoy.
      Before I release all my findings, look at your diet and see where you can cut out all processed foods, sugar, soda, fried foods, junk foods. This is the first step in losing weight, getting in the best shape of your life and never dieting again.

  5. Wow, I just cannot believe your transformation!!! Way to go! You are a true inspiration. I really hope to accomplish what you have. I am DONE with Jenny Craig, Herbal Magic, and Weight Watchers. They’ve sucked me out of so much money already and I have gained back everything I lost through them. I have shared your site on my Facebook and Twitter because I really think you should spread the word. These diet companies need to be shut down. They are like “drug dealers” in a way. They work in a way that you NEED to keep giving them money in order to keep getting the results.

      You’re speaking my language! Great to meet someone who’s on the same page.
      Diet companies are designed by nature, to keep you wanting more, to keep you being overweight. And let’s face it, if they all worked, and we all lost weight, we wouldn’t need them any more would we?
      And yet year after year, a new diet comes out promising that “this is the one.” And we’re so desperate, gullible and vulnerable that we BELIEVE them, time and time again.
      It’s so tiring!
      It’s time to get off the diet treadmill and admit that DIETS DON’T WORK.
