motivation to lose weightI’ve been around the block many times when it comes to the subject of losing weight and the main reason I’ve failed for 33 years is that I was never fully committed to my motivation to lose weight.

I didn’t want it bad enough and my motivation to lose weight wasn’t strong enough.

I never understood that until right now.

You see right now, my motivation to lose weight is invincible. Nothing can break it this time. I have temptation all around me, and yet it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I wear my motivation to lose weight like an invisible shield. It’s all encompassing.

Now I know it’s been said that in order for you to successfully lose weight you need to have the right people around you and to stay away from temptation. But I’m starting to think that’s a little unrealistic. There are always going to be office parties, birthday parties, weddings, dinners out … you can’t stop living just because you’ve decided to get healthy. Life goes on and you’ve got to find a way to adapt, or you’ll fail yet again. You simply have to develop the mindset of someone who is proactive about their health and won’t let any temptation deter them.

Let’s take it out of context for a minute. Alcoholics don’t give up their social life because they can’t drink alcohol. They can still go to a social gathering and have fun without a beer in their had. Same with you! Again, it’s a mindset!

And if you’re firm with your convictions, the people around you will respect you for that. And if they don’t, be firm with them and explain that this is important to you and for them to respect your motivation to lose weight. And who knows, you may even recruit a few to follow in your path when they see your steely resolve and your results. Nothing irks more than seeing someone stick to their guns and get results.

But again, and this is KEY, YOU HAVE TO WANT THIS more than you’ve EVER wanted ANYTHING before. Seriously, I really believe that’s the difference.

Your mindset and your motivation to lose weight comes first. All the other stuff then becomes quite academic. I can teach you the academics of losing weight easily. But if you seriously want to lose weight and keep it off forever, it all starts with what’s inside your head. I can’t teach you how to find your motivation to lose weight. You have to dig deep and find that yourself.
