Motivation to lose weight means so many different things to so many different people.

Our motivation to lose weight comes down to a compelling reason that stimulates or inspires us to move towards our goals.

So have you found your motivation to lose weight yet? Your compelling reason that will keep you motivated through your ups and downs, through rain and shine?

To be utterly frank with you I’m pissed off with life right now … and it’s raining outside. How motivated do you think I am to exercise right now? About as motivated as a slug in summer.

But what keeps me going? My writing. My blog posts.motivation to lose weight

My blog keeps me honest and holds me accountable. And for me, that’s what it took to get this far. So many times I didn’t have the motivation I needed to keep going. And yet the thought of admitting failure in my blog kept me going. It’s been my source of strength.

It is my deepest desire that my blog will inspire others to do the same.

If you’re reading this right now and you’re desperate to find your own motivation to lose weight, perhaps you’ll find it by doing as I have done … by throwing down the gauntlet to the diet industry and saying, “Heck no! Not again. This time I’m doing it MY way!”

I’ve learned some secrets along the way … most of them you’ll find in these blog posts.

But here’s the one that I keep getting emails on most of all … what are the healthy foods I can eat to lose weight fastwell here they are:

Proteins

Chicken, Turkey, Fish, Salmon, Tuna, Pork, Tofu, Egg Whites, Red Meat (sparingly).

How much? As you know, I’m not a fan of weighing anything. Look at the size of the back of your hand and that should give you an indication of how much.

Vegetables

Anything goes … the best veges that will help get rid of belly fat are cruciferous vegetables such as Broccoli, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, Kale, Bok Choy, Cabbage, Collard Greens, Rutabaga, Arugula (Rocket), Watercress, Radishes & Wasabi.

Be sensible with the starchy ones like potato, pumpkin, butternut squash etc. As delicious as they are they are not the most conducive vegetables for losing weight. Just keep that in mind.

Fruits

Anything goes … but in moderation.

Keep in mind the high sugar count in fruit. If you’re trying to lose weight I would recommend keeping it down to around 1-2 serves a day maximum!

Sugar is not your friend. Even when it’s in one of God’s most delicious creations. But anything in moderation is fine.

Carbs / Grains / Legumes

Oatmeal, Cous Cous, Brown Rice, Lentils, Hummus, Quinoa, Beans, Whole Grain Cereal, Whole Grain Bread, Whole Grain Pita Bread.

How much? Again, I’m not into measuring but I would say 1 cup of any of the above and when it comes to bread I would say 2 slices is acceptable.

Dairy

Cheese: Feta, Goat, Skim Milk Mozzarella, Lo-fat Cottage and Parmesan.

Milk: Skim, Soy and Rice.

Yogurt: Low Fat Natural with Acidophilus. motivation to lose weight

This for me is one of my secret weapons that’s helping me get rid of belly fat. When do you most often get the munchies? After dinner right? Next time you get the munchies I want you to try this.

1 cup of Low Fat Yogurt

1 tablespoon of liquid honey drizzled on top

1 handful of chopped walnuts (any nuts really but I prefer walnuts in this mix)

This is to die for!

There is just enough sweetness in the honey to kick all your sugar cravings to the curb and the crunchy nuts make you feel like you’re doing something really naughty – but you’re not! Sometimes I can’t wait to get through dinner just to get to my ‘treat.’

You’ll feel naughty, but you’re actually doing something really good for yourself. Try it and see. This is how I got rid of my sugar cravings. And without sugar cravings you have a far better chance of losing weight. Don’t you agree?

Fats

Oil: Olive, Flaxseed, Coconut.

Avocado & Olives.

Again, allow common sense to prevail

Condiments / Sauces / Spreads

Mustard, Fat Free Dressings, all Vinegar (Balsamic is delicious with Olive Oil), Honey, Peanut Butter and pure Fruit Jams with no added sugar.

PLEASE NOTE: Check all labels when it comes to sauces and dressings … some are so laden with SUGAR that they will sabotage all weight loss efforts.

Try and go as natural as possible.

Olive oil, vinegar, rock salt and pepper with a dash of mustard is a great dressing. Experiment.

Snacks

Rice Cakes, Dried Fruit (in moderation), Turkey Jerky, Nuts.

And there you have it! Play with combinations of the above.

And how about rules you ask? There are no rules, just guidelines and here they are.

Guidelines to healthy, natural eating

  • Eat 3 meals a day and a snack mid-morning and mid afternoon to keep your sugar levels in check and to prevent you bingeing later on.
  • Be sensible with your food portions.
  • Be mindful when you’re eating.
  • Eat slowly so you can savor your food, and so your body has a chance to tell you when it’s full.
  • Add herbs and spices to your meals to give them energy.
  • Eat only what’s natural.

My philosophy for healthy eating and losing weight is pretty simple … “If God didn’t make it – don’t eat it.”

I promise you, you will see the pounds fall off remarkably if you just follow these guidelines.

Get rid of all the junk food and just try this outyour body will thank you.

No-one is immune from cellulite

Cellulite is a term used to describe the orange peel effect we get under our skin around our butts and thighs mostly. It can be caused by crash dieting, not drinking enough water to flush toxins, smoking, not getting enough exercise, diuretics, diet pills, hormones and just plain genetic fate.

Call me nasty but I always feel a little better when I know stars can be afflicted with the same problems I have. So if you have cellulite and you want to get rid of cellulite, just know you’re in good company.

There are many expensive cellulite treatments out there claiming to get rid of cellulite forever. Some quite scary and invasive, and some as simple as rubbing special potions of secret ingredients on your affected areas. In my opinion they’re all just fake promises in a bottle. I know because I’ve tried most of them and none of them worked. More of my hard earned money down the drain.

That was until I spent $8 on one revolutionary tool that has changed the appearance of my rocky road thighs – hopefully forever.

Now here comes the disclaimer. This didn’t happened in 20 days. This is something that I started doing a year ago. Now keep something in mind, everything I’m sharing with you here is designed to get you in the best shape of your life FOREVER … not just for a few weeks until you yo-yo back to your past behaviors.

So what is my $8 cure to get rid of cellulite? I bought a dry brush and brushed myself like a jockey rubs down his horse! I’m not kidding!

Here’s how it works.

The Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system is part of your circulatory system. It’s basically a huge drainage system that carries a clear fluid called lymph towards the heart. It works to help your body eliminate toxins.

In this diagram you get an idea of the path of the lymphatic system. I’m oversimplifying a lot here, but I want to keep it simple for a reason: weight loss doesn’t need to be complicated!

The lymphatic system has no pump. It relies on you breathing and moving around to move lymph through the body. So if you’re not very effective at this, you can get swelling which can lead to the orange peel effect under your skin.

So to get rid of cellulite, invest in a natural bristle brush.

The technique is pretty simple. Brush your body in short, light upward strokes from the bottom of your feet, up your legs brushing every part up to your heart. Then raise each arm above your head and brush in short, light, downard strokes towards your arm pit.

Then take a warm shower and if you can manage, finish off with cool water at the end.

And that’s how you get rid of cellulite for $8!

 

Now it won’t happen overnight, but it will happen because it did for me.

I would encourage you to read up on lymphatic drainage because there are many other health benefits related to it. I have only superficially covered it here relating to how you can get rid of cellulite.

My Motivation To Lose Weight | Lose Weight Fast With Diet Pills | Day 16 of P90X 90 Day Challenge

In my desperation to lose weight fast last year I turned to diet pills.

I was eating like a woman possessed. Rich creamy curries, pizza, sausages, puddings, chocolates, creamy cocktails. I was out of control. So I asked my doctor if I could get some diet pills. My doctor was reluctant, but I was persistent. What a disaster! I take full responsibility.

I knew it was DUMB to take diet pills as I’d tried them before in my 20’s.

I remember many a midnight spring cleaning adventure, high as a kite. Feather dusters were a bluster and hoovers found their way into every nook and cranny of my house.

But this time was different. No rush, no boost of energy from the diet pills – nothing. Except ugly scars!

This is my left arm. I have these sores on the backs of my hands, all up my arms, on my legs … they’re disgusting.

And I did this to myself in a vain effort to lose weight fast.

Heed my warning. Diet pills are dangerous, addictive and can scar you permanently.

I did a little reading on the diet pills I was taking and this is an excerpt I found:

XXXXX should be avoided under any circumstances if you suffer from any of the medical conditions given below:

  • very high blood pressure
  • problem with valves in the heart

  • narrowing of blood vessels

Even if I’d researched the diet pills I was taking before I took them, as desperate as I was to curb my ravenous appetite I probably would have taken the risk anyway. I stopped taking these diet pills 3 months ago and I’m still finding new rashes daily.

Was it worth it? Absolutely not!

Did I experience permanent weight loss? Absolutely not!

Did I learn anything? Yep! I’d failed yet again to lose weight fast. And remember – that was just last year!

This time I’m doing it the right way.

All natural, all healthy.

 

I truly believe I am unlocking the secrets of how to lose weight and how to lose it forever.

The diet industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. The diet industry doesn’t want you to unlock the secrets of how to lose weight. They have a vested interest in you failing at every diet you try. How many diets have you been on? Me? I’ve been dieting for 33 years. And I’m not dieting ever again. EVER!

I’m educating myself on what it means to eat a healthy, balanced diet and I am finding ways to exercise that I look forward to and enjoy (oops! if you’ve read some of my earlier blogs you know I don’t enjoy them all!) You don’t need diet pills, or diets or an exercise program that fills you with dread.
